As an aspiring business woman, at the age of 16 I started work experience in the oilfield as a Safety Coordinator Assistant for my father’s trucking company, Cardusty Trucking Ltd., while finishing high school. After high school, I jumped into business management studies. I began working in the accounting side of operations and soon had a front row seat to management of the business.
As life went on, I began a family taking a short break from the work force only to find myself with other opportunities for work experience. As I had a vast fascination to business and financial planning, I worked in banking institutions building my knowledge and soon landing myself a position running two small businesses; oilfield rentals and production testing as a Controller and Assistant General Manager. From there, the companies amalgamated with a mother company and I moved on to starting a new business venture of my own in the financial industry taking a break from the oilfield.
I went back to college to become a fully licensed financial advisor with the designation of a Certified Health Specialist (CHS/RHU). I became an independent contracted financial advisor with Sun Life Financial opening an insurance and investment service in High Level, Alberta. I operated my business as a highly successful advisor for 6 years.
As opportunities arose, I began shining an interest back in the oilfield and decided to try out the industry once again. I began a small oilfield rental company called, “THOMPSON HILL ENERGY RENTALS”. Today, the company has gotten out of the rentals business and specializes in trucking focusing on fluid hauling in the oil & gas industry otherwise known as THOMPSON HILL ENERGY SERVICES. We continue to offer a competitive, high level of service to all our much appreciated clients. Serving Alberta, BC, & Saskatchewan.
